About Alma Gabriela

Alma Gabriela is a mother, an intuitive-interdisciplinary artist, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a PhD candidate at Pacifica Graduate School focusing on Integrative Therapy and Healing Practices.

Alma Gabriela ritualizes artmaking as an embodied spiritual practice that tends to the soul. Her artmaking process is primarily intuitive, involving several methods of engaging the unconscious to access embodied wisdom and interact with personal and collective symbols, dreams, and emerging narratives. Alma Gabriela approaches art-making as spiritual activism and liberation; integrating academic research, her professional work as a depth-oriented psychotherapist, personal intergenerational healing, and the decolonization of identity.

Alma bridges the wisdom of ancient indigenous practices to serve the modern expression of self and the collective narratives that are rapidly evolving. It is her passion to work with creatives, artists, empaths, visionaries, storytellers, eccentrics, healers, and activists who are called to use their unique gifts to attend to their personal well-being, heal intergenerational trauma, and be of service to the community and planet.

Alma has over 10 years of experience in the mental health field working with people experiencing mild to severe symptoms and helping people access their innate capacity to transform pain and struggle into wellness and meaningful living. She provides holistic, trauma-informed, intersectional, and inclusive therapy.
